About Swiss Army Knives
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

4 out of 5 stars Good knife and flashlight   July 31, 2010

I bought the knife for my friend and he likes it. He didn't want the flashlight, so I kept it. I used it on the trip to the White Mt. last couple weeks. The flashlight is really nice, bright and easy to use. I think this combination is a good deal for us.

My neighbor's son, a recent college graduate, was thrilled with the knife and flashlight. It arrived on time and in great condition.

5 out of 5 stars Great bargain!   April 26, 2010

This set was a great bargain - for the price of the penknife I got both. Hunstman II is great, just as I would expect Victorinox penknife to be. And the flashlight is suprisingly good - nice, bright, well-focused light, quite light.

I cant be more disappointed with this flashlight, you should buy a maglite instead of this piece of trash.
the light is just weak and it have a poor range.
the knife is ok.

5 out of 5 stars Swiss Army Knife with Flashlight   February 20, 2010

I purchased the Swiss Army knife with the flashlight twice - both were gifts. They were very well received, at least I think so. I thought they were great and that's why I chose to give as gifts.
