Amazon.com Product Description
With a three-inch blade constructed of 440A stainless steel and a handle constructed of 410 stainless steel, Kershaw's Ken Onion Leek folding knife is sleek, indestructible, and razor sharp. Kershaw's flawless assisted opening system, SpeedSafe, assists the user to smoothly open the knife with a manual push on the blade's thumb stud or index-open system. In order to open the knife, the user must apply manual pressure to the thumb stud to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. After the blade is out of the handle, the torsion bar moves along its track and takes over. The blade opens smoothly and locks into position, ready for use. Measuring four inches long when closed and weighing just 3.1 ounces, this versatile knife includes a limited lifetime warranty.

5 out of 5 stars Best knife i've ever owned   August 30, 2010

This is by far the best knife I have ever owned. It is very solid and well built. When you hold the knife it feels sturdy in your hand. The way the knife opens is smooth and effortless. Just apply a little pressure with your index finger and the blade is out and locked into place in a second. The blade is VERY sharp, it can cut paper, plastics (thick or thin) like butter without dulling. The frame lock is sturdy and I would never but another knife without it. The belt clip is great and can be attached to either side of the knife. As far as I can tell this is the highest quality knife I have ever owned. I do not anticipate having to purchase any other knife for a long time, unless I lose this one.

5 out of 5 stars Great Knife   August 29, 2010

Works very well, the speed safe feature is a must have. Overall its a little larger than I like but it hasn't left my pocket since purchasing it.

Very good knife. It fits in the pocket well, is sharp, and the quick draw is convenient.

4 out of 5 stars VERY COOL!!!   August 25, 2010

I like rating knives for their purpose of use - So, this knife is well built and sharp, but it is more neato and a light duty gentlemans knife than anything else (not for camping, hunting, or work - blade is too narrow). Ok, it's very sharp and good steel and this knife has some really cool tricks (it's a switch-blade), but I could suggest other small EDC knives for a defense choice too. For that, you could take a look at the Leek G 10 handle for more grip..(as for the stainless version, there is not much grip on a sweaty hand, and it's a smallish knife too; smaller than photos suggest and it's size, at times, makes it a little awkward to open with either the flipper or the thumb studs.

So, overall, this is a great mid to smallish pocket knife. It's more so a neat little daily carrier for folks who're mid-to-light knife users. Also, this is great for the collector, or for someone needing a small self defense carrier. If self defense is your main reason of purchase, I'd also look at the G-10 handle version (more grippy and safer for defense situations). Or, I'd choose the Kershaw Skyline over this knife for defense. In contrast, and for a full on defense knife, or other.. I've got a Spyderco "Military" which is the ultimate do-all knife, but it's much bigger, and pricey ($140). Back to the Leek; great for ladies too (light and small). Would be a great gift for someone (with an engraving, or without). Father's day, etc.. Not for kids though!

Get this knife!! Neato!! But, no workerman's tool (if you ask me).

5 out of 5 stars Ken Onion Leek Knife   August 19, 2010

After much research, I decided to purchase this knife, with reservation. On arrival, I must say that it is very much more than I had anticipated.
This is my first Kershaw, now of many more. This is a fine blade, made in America. More than I expected. As always, many thanks to Amazon as well.
